PTMin award for the best doctoral thesis to Bartosz Puzio from the LARG group

The Mineralogical Society of Poland has awarded Dr. Bartosz Puzio the prestigious prize for the best doctoral dissertation in Poland in the field of mineralogy-petrology-geochemistry in the 2023-24 edition. In the dissertation “A new method for predicting thermodynamic functions for apatites” experimental data of thermodynamic state functions of apatites were collected. Based on accumulated experimental data of entropy of formation, enthalpy of formation, Gibbs free energy, solubility constant and molar volume for phosphate, arsenate and vanadate apatites, a new method for prediction of thermodynamic state functions was proposed.
