Patent for new method of beneficiation of REE

Researchers from the LARG group have been awarded, in international collaboration, a patent “Method of extracting rare earth elements from solutions derived from leaching of minerals and waste materials”. The essence of the patent is a scientifically developed procedure for co-precipitation of REE elements with lead apatite – pyromorphite Pb5(PO4)3Cl. The novel method is particularly suitable for the extraction of REE from waste apatite, which represents great and still untapped raw material potential in Europe.
